Lou Sandock to Retire

DSC07379.JPGA message from Lou:

After 13 summers as volunteer coordinator of ASTRO CAMP at Camp Eberhart, the time has come for me to retire from those duties as coordinator.

I thank Brice Emanuel, past camp director, for giving me the opportunity to create the Astro Camp program.
I thank the Yarger family for their financial support of the Astronomy program at Camp Eberhart.
I thank Ed Levy, president of the Alumni Association of Camp Eberhart.
I thank all the staff members of Astro Camp who have volunteered their time and expertise to develop the Astro Camp program into possibly the finest Astronomy program for children in America today.
DSC03324.JPGI thank the hundreds of campers that chose to participate in Astro Camp over the past 13 summers when attending Camp Eberhart.
What a great time we had, and how much we accomplished!

I am pleased to know that Astro Camp will continue under the able leadership of Chuck Bueter, who has agreed to accept the position of coordinator.

DSC05943.JPGCamp Eberhart and I have a long-standing relationship, since I was a 10-year-old; Eberhart camper 1958, 1959; Astronomy counselor 1967, 1968; Astro Camp coordinator 2001 through 2013.  Camp has been very good to me…it taught me a lot, and was there when I needed it.  Eberhart  -- ever…in…my heart.

Best wishes for continued success,

Lou
